Hi, everyone! Although I am late into my journey, I have decided to create a celebratory blog. What am I celebrating you wonder? Being cast as "Clara" in the 2010 production of The Nutcracker, of course!
I grew up going to local productions of The Nutcracker and dreaming of what role I would someday dance. Would I perform the Spanish variation, bestowing the gift of hot chocolate upon Clara and her prince? Or would I dance in the graceful Waltz of the Flowers? Little did I know that I would someday dance the coveted role of "Clara".
Currently, we have one month and 10 days until opening night! The Prince and I have been working together since the end of June and our Pas de Deux is coming along nicely. I feel that I have gained a very strong skill in partnering that I would otherwise have not gained if I was not cast as the leading role.
Although the journey has been tough it has been, and will continue to be, a memorable one!
